How Did Shared Vision Network Get Started?
Shared Vision Network was started in 1991 by Judy A. Foster, wife of Ken Foster the current CEO.
Judy was tired of seeing so many of her friends struggling in business and trying to do it all themselves. She knew there had to be a better way and she was determined to find it.
One day Judy attended a workshop put on by Jack Canfield, co-creator of the best selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series, at the workshop Jack encouraged her to go for her dreams and not to stop until she accomplished them.
So, as she drove home from the Jack Canfield workshop that evening she had a Vision. The Vision was to create a special group dedicated to helping like-minded, conscious, soulful entrepreneurs by successfully networking and masterminding with one another.
She decided it was time to create a place where people could immerse themselves in a supportive professional environment, and be able to grow their businesses and lives in a balanced way.
Judy knew she wanted to be with great people who were up for creating great things. She looked for individuals with high integrity, team spirit and an abundant, giving attitude. She sought people who were not only seeking more business and financial success for themselves, but who were committed to helping others create the same.
In other words she looked for individuals who had a vision of making a difference in the world, because she knew if she could empower them to become stronger in themselves and in their businesses, the world would be a better place for us all.
Judy called her first group Women’s Wisdom, women empowering women in friendship and business. The group was an instant success! In fact, the women got such great results from supporting one another that the men started noticing… and they asked Judy to let them join in the fun!
So in 1994, Judy opened the organization to men and renamed the business Shared Vision.
After Judy and Ken were married in 1999, Ken knew that Judy’s vision could to be expanded globally. Where ever they went small business owners were looking not only to grow their business but also their lives. The world was changing and with the internet just coming of age, Ken knew this vision could easily be expanded beyond Southern California. This is when the word “Network” was added to the Shared Vision name to better express their global vision. And now Shared Vision Network was off and running!
Today Shared Vision Network is the premier professional development organization for entrepreneurs. We have members in 43 countries, and chapters are springing up around the United States. Over the last two years membership has tripled. We have an international following with thousands of individuals who are affiliated with the organization.
Member activities include training from internationally recognized speakers, authors, and business educators, dynamic networking events at local chapters, business educational workshops, tele-training, on-line business community, internet discussion groups, fundraising for local and national charities, social events, business coaching, internet community master mind groups, and an internet-based business skills resource center geared to help you improve in your professional and personal life.
To conclude, many people asked Judy and Ken Foster, “What is unique about Shared Vision Network?”
We have more than one answer for you. Some say it’s the heartfelt energy that we and our staff model for our ever-growing network of members. Others say it’s the access to internationally recognized experts that lead our tele-trainings each month.
Still others say it’s the business-building tools and systems, and yet others say it is the networking from the heart and the love that everyone feels when they experience the Shared Vision Network.
What ever it is, we know for sure Shared Vision Network shows entrepreneurs how to tap into their innate power and wisdom and lead a richer life! |
